Senate District 4 covers a vast and predominantly rural area that encompasses 12 counties: Butte, Colusa, Del Norte, Glenn, Nevada, Placer, Shasta, Siskiyou, Sutter, Tehama, Trinity and Yuba Counties. Senate District 4 includes the most northern coastline in the state and follows the California-Oregon state line, then moves down the central portion of Northern California to just north of the greater Sacramento area. Due to its size, the district contains a diverse range of natural assets that include agriculture, water, forestry and environmental resources. Senate District 4 is one of the most geographically beautiful areas in the nation.
