The Legislature’s nonpartisan fiscal and policy advisor, the Legislative Analyst, reports that California’s legislation to restrict greenhouse gas emissions (AB 32) will result in jobs lost in the near term and will contribute to increased gas, electricity and other energy costs. The new information comes after a request from Senator Dave Cogdill (R-Modesto) to examine the overall impact this legislation will have on jobs in California. Click here to read more.
Senator Dave Cogdill today received an award from the Design Build Institute of America, Western Pacific Region (DBIA WPR) for his legislative achievements to reduce barriers to California’s infrastructure improvements.
Last year as a part of the budget, Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger signed legislation authored by Senator Cogdill, Senate Bill X2 4, which expedites and lowers the cost of infrastructure projects by allowing public-private partnerships and design-build authority.

Senator Dave Cogdill (R-Modesto) today issued the following statement after Senate Democrats approved Senate Bill 810 by Senator Mark Leno (D-San Francisco) which would create a government-run health care system in California. This proposal is estimated to cost $200 billion annually to implement.

The California National Guard Adjutant General presented Senator Dave Cogdill (R-Modesto) with the Guard’s second highest meritorious award, the California Medal of Merit.
The California National Guard issues the Medal of Merit award for exceptionally meritorious service to the state or nation by a civilian or member of the armed services in a duty of great responsibility; or to any person who, by unselfish and untiring activities in connection with the National Guard, has rendered a distinct service in furthering the interest of and in promoting the security and welfare of the state.
