SACRAMENTO – Senate Minority Leader Bob Huff (R-San Dimas) gave a warm greeting to the newly-appointed Mexican Consul General Alejandra Garcia Williams and her daughter on the Senate floor today. The Honorable Consul General Garcia Williams has been appointed to the current position in Sacramento.

Sen. Huff issued the following statement:

“The Honorable Consul General Garcia Williams is a dynamic, tenacious and gracious person who will do great things for the people of Northern California. We developed a friendship while working together on issues in Orange County.

“According to the latest numbers from the U.S. Census Bureau, the Golden State is home to nearly 12 million Mexicans making up 32 percent of the state’s population. Mexico is California’s number one trading partner. The Consul General plays an important role for our immigrant population and the state’s vital business relationships.

I look forward to continuing our productive working relationship. Congratulations Consul General Garcia Williams, and welcome to Sacramento.”
