Senate Republican Leader Fuller Commemorates Veterans Day

Wednesday, November 11, 2015

SACRAMENTO – Senate Republican Leader Jean Fuller (R-Bakersfield) issued the following statement in observance of Veterans Day.

“Veterans Day is an acutely emotional one for me. This year, I was incredibly honored to be present while one of the Honor Flight Kern County groups placed a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington National Cemetery. Witnessing members of the greatest generation pause somberly and pay their respects was an experience that left an indelible mark on my soul.

“These men and women served their country and asked nothing in return, knowing full well that they may have been asked to make the ultimate sacrifice. Their courage, bravery and belief in a cause greater than themselves, both reminds and challenges me to be the best statesman I can be. So join me today in thanking each veteran for their service to this great nation, for without them our freedoms and way of life would not be possible.”
