Senate Republican Leader Jean Fuller (R-Bakersfield) released the following statement regarding the Legislative Analyst’s Office (LAO) 2016-17 Fiscal Outlook.
“The Legislative Analyst’s Office projects that the budget situation is positive for Californians,” said Sen. Fuller. “But we have to remember that spending is about priorities, and we need to be sure that the Legislature’s budget priorities match up with the needs of Californians.”
“Even in the absence of Proposition 30 taxes, this strong revenue growth shows that it won’t be necessary to impose new taxes on California families. Senate Republicans also believe that there are opportunities in the current forecast to restore rates for Medi-Cal providers and address the needs of the most vulnerable members of our society, including the developmentally disabled.”
