Senate Republican Leader Bob Huff (R-San Dimas) released the following statement praising the heroic efforts of the three American men who stopped what promised to be a massacre on a train headed for Paris over the weekend.
“These three men are heroes – plain and simple,” said Senator Huff. “Without their efforts to stop this terrorist, who knows how many innocent lives would have been lost. They represent what’s best about America – the willingness to step up against a threat without regard for their own safety until that threat is subdued. They are most worthy of France’s highest award, the Legion d’Honneur, and every other honor that will be coming their way in the days and weeks ahead.”
The three men grew up in the Sacramento area. Today, Senator Jim Nielsen (R-Gerber), whose district encompasses the communities where the men grew up, issued this statement:
“The three childhood friends from the Sacramento region deserve all the appreciation and recognition they are receiving including a heroes’ parade being planned by the City and County of Sacramento. We live in a dangerous world where the threats of terrorists are real. I applaud these brave and humble young men who took action to save innocent lives.”
