SACRAMENTO – Senate Republicans and the City of Sacramento held a parade today in honor of three local hometown heroes – Anthony Sadler, Alek Skarlatos and Spencer Stone – who bravely foiled a terrorist while traveling through Europe. Senate Republican Leader Jean Fuller (R-Bakersfield) and Sen. Jim Nielsen (R-Carmichael), who represents the community where the three grew up, applaud them with the following statements:
“Anthony, Alek and Spencer represent the best America has to offer as they were willing to put their lives on the line to protect others,” said Sen. Fuller.
“There is no more appropriate day to honor these three American heroes than today – the anniversary of September 11. Their selfless acts on the French train to stop the terrorist attack saved many innocent lives. It is reminiscent of the heroic acts of the first responders and members of our military who put their lives on the line 14 years ago during the worst terrorist attack on American soil.”
Sen. Nielsen said, “What a fantastic show of pride and patriotism. Sharing the privilege of honoring these heroes today makes me feel very proud to be an American.”
