SACRAMENTO – Senate Republican Leader Jean Fuller (R-Bakersfield) released the following statement in remembrance of the 74th anniversary of Pearl Harbor Day.
“Winston Churchill said, ‘Those who fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it.’ That’s why it is vital that we take time today to remember the anniversary of Pearl Harbor, known as ‘a day that will live in infamy.’
“More than 2,000 brave sailors and soldiers were killed on December 7, 1941 leading to the United States entering World War II. The 74th anniversary of this historic day reminds us all of the daily sacrifices those serving in our Armed Forces make to keep our country free.
“There are few survivors left of those horrific attacks, which makes it all the more important for Americans to take a moment today to reflect on Pearl Harbor and honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice. We need to ensure that they will not be forgotten.”
