Senate Republican Leader urges a Giving Spirit this Holiday Season

Monday, December 21, 2015

SACRAMENTO – Senate Republican Leader Jean Fuller (R-Bakersfield) issued the following statement:

“As we gather to celebrate this holiday season with family and friends, I’m hopeful that we’re reminded how truly blessed we are to live in this great country.

“What helps make this country so great is the giving spirit demonstrated by all of you, the caring citizens of our state and nation. By volunteering your time and resources to worthy charities in your hometowns, many of you have ensured that those less fortunate will have their holiday season brightened.

“While our economy is improving, times are still tough for many. But the kindness and generosity of Californians around the state means that less fortunate families in every community will be touched during this special season with a gift for their child or a holiday meal.

“This time of year, it’s also important that we take time to remember all the brave men and women serving our country here and overseas, protecting the rights and values we often take for granted.

“I am truly fortunate to have been blessed by the support and friendship I have received from all of you, and I hope that this holiday season is filled with joy.

“I would like to wish all of you a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, and may God bless each and every one of you.”
