The Legislature’s nonpartisan fiscal and policy advisor, the Legislative Analyst, reports that California’s legislation to restrict greenhouse gas emissions (AB 32) will result in jobs lost in the near term and will contribute to increased gas, electricity and other energy costs. Senator Dave Cogdill today received an award from the Design Build Institute of America, Western Pacific Region (DBIA WPR) for his legislative achievements to reduce barriers to California’s infrastructure improvements.

Last year as a part of the budget, Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger signed legislation authored by Senator Cogdill, Senate Bill X2 4, which expedites and lowers the cost of infrastructure projects by allowing public-private partnerships and design-build authority.

The California National Guard Adjutant General presented Senator Dave Cogdill (R-Modesto) with the Guard’s second highest meritorious award, the California Medal of Merit.
