State Senator Tony Strickland Holds Mobile District Office Event in Buellton

Community event is part of a series of actions Strickland is taking to reach out to community

California State Senator Tony Strickland (R-Thousand Oaks) met with local residents from Buellton and surrounding communities at a mobile district office event designed to provide open door access for constituents to discuss important state issues with Senator Strickland. The community event took place in front of Albertson’s off East Hwy 246 in Buellton.

“I was elected to serve the people of Buellton, Solvang, and Santa Ynez, therefore, I need to make sure I am always accessible to the people in my district,” said Senator Strickland.

Senator Strickland continued, “As your Senator, I will continue to work with Democrats and Republicans to transition California to a renewable energy efficient economy to create jobs, reduce our dependence on foreign oil, improve the environment, and lower energy prices. With California’s unemployment rate at 10.5 percent in February, legislators should be focused on job creation instead of continuing to tax already overburdened citizens, further pushing more valuable jobs out of California.”

Residents from Buellton, Solvang, Santa Ynez, and surrounding communities turned out at Senator Strickland’s mobile district office event to voice concerns and offer solutions. California’s troubled economy, unemployment, and high taxes were among the top issues discussed.

This local outreach event was the fourth in a series of community events that Senator Strickland plans to hold throughout his entire district.
