Your response to a brief, online survey can help improve the Alzheimer’s Disease State Plan. The California Health and Human Services Agency’s Alzheimer’s Advisory Committee and the Alzheimer’s Association are assembling an Alzheimer’s Disease State Plan by early 2011 to prepare for the expected doubling of Californians living with the Alzheimer’s by 2030. The plan is following enactment of Senate Bill 491 in 2008.
The committee and association are incorporating input from the community by including people with Alzheimer’s, aging and health leaders, family caregivers, Alzheimer’s researchers, and service providers in the plan development. There is a brief survey that will be available online at the California Health and Human Services Agency website until May 31.
This survey will capture the public’s input, especially from the families that live with the Alzheimer’s disease. Right now, there are about 1.1 million family caregivers caring for Californians with Alzheimer’s disease. In order to consider the caregivers needs in developing the Alzheimer’s Disease State Plan, we must hear from as many of them as possible. Please take a few minutes and provide your answers to this important survey.
Thank you for supporting the Alzheimer’s Disease Plan for California.
“Senate Republicans are glad to see Governor Schwarzenegger’s commitment to not raise taxes again and his focus on job creation and beginning the process of eliminating job killing regulations,” said Senate Republican Leader Dennis Hollingsworth. “While this budget involves tough choices, that’s no different than the tough choices every California family has to make in these difficult economic times.”
“Controlling spending and not raising taxes have to be our top priorities in order to get California back on the right track- this budget is a good start.”
