Creating Jobs

To grow our economy and state revenues, it is imperative that we promote an environment where job creators can invest, expand and thrive.

According to Chief Executive Magazine,
CALIFORNIA IS THE WORST STATE TO DO BUSINESS!

The nonpartisan Tax Foundation reports California:

... has the highest sales tax in the nation.
... ranks 48th in state by state business climate competitiveness.
... has the highest corporate tax rate in the western United States.
... has the 4th highest income tax in the country.
... has the highest upper marginal income tax rate in the nation.

These figures underscore the reality facing the business owners I hear from, as well as my own experience running a small business.

My Plan to Create Jobs

I have introduced Senate Constitutional Amendment 8 which creates a new bipartisan committee charged with identifying state incentives for job creation and economic growth.

I am also hosting a series of business roundtables throughout the year. I will be soliciting input from business owners about what regulatory reform is needed for businesses to create jobs and prosper. Check back soon for details on upcoming roundtables.
