California has the 4th highest income tax in the nation.
California has the highest corporate tax rate in the western United States.
California has the highest gas taxes in the nation.

• I strongly oppose any action by the majority party to impose temporary increases in sales tax and personal income taxes.

• I support eliminating the factory tax so we can become more competitive for investment. California is one of just three states that currently impose a sales tax on manufacturing equipment purchases. According to the Milken Institute, exempting manufacturing equipment from the sales tax would result in the creation of 50,000 new jobs per year over the next 10 years.

• I support expanding the research and development tax credit to establish incentives for increasing investment.

• I also support cutting taxes for every taxpayer and every business in California to jumpstart the economy and restore California as a leader in economic growth, competitiveness and innovation.
