This morning, Senator and former Assemblyman Mike Morrell (R-Rancho Cucamonga) was sworn in as the newest member of the California State Senate. Senator Morrell handily won the seat for California’s 23rd Senate District in a special election on Tuesday, March 25th.
“I want to welcome Senator Morrell into our caucus,” said Senate Republican Leader Bob Huff (R-Diamond Bar.) “Based on Mike’s history of serving the needs of his constituents while he was in the State Assembly, I have every confidence he will bring this same level of service to his career here in the Senate. Some say recent events have tarnished the image of the Senate in the eyes of Californians. Senator Morrell is a man of principle and integrity. The residents of the 23rd Senate District are in great hands.”
“I want to thank Senator Huff for his support and look forward to great relationships with Senators from throughout the state,” said Senator Morrell. “Now, more than ever, Californians deserve a Senate that works to serve their needs and earns their trust.”
The 23rd State Senate District covers portions of Riverside, San Bernardino, and Los Angeles Counties. The district includes all or portions of the following communities: Banning, Beaumont, Big Bear City, Big Bear Lake, Cedar Glen, Calimesa, Cherry Valley, Crestline, Homeland, Hemet, Highland, Lake Arrowhead, Loma Linda, Menifee, Mentone, Nuevo, Phelan, Pinon Hills, Rancho Cucamonga, Redlands, San Bernardino, San Jacinto, Wrightwood, and Yucaipa.
