SACRAMENTO:  Senate Republican Leader Bob Huff (R-Diamond Bar) is proud to announce that Senate Republican Caucus Spanish Media Coordinator Jesse Rodriguez has been nominated by the Sacramento Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (SHCC) for its “Young Professional of the Year” award.

The award is part of the SHCC 2015 Salud! Awards dinner that will not only showcase its “Young Professional of the Year” but also its “Small Business of the Year.” Winners will be announced at their annual dinner on Feb. 6 at Sacramento State.

Other nominees for the “Young Professional of the Year” award by the SHCC are Marilyn Sakai, Managing Member of Lee & Sakai, and Cynthia Moreno, Capitol Correspondent for Vida en el Valle.

Rodriguez joined the Senate Republican Caucus in November 2013. He coordinates and helps develop messaging and strategy to the Hispanic community throughout California. That includes dealing directly with the many Hispanic news outlets throughout the state and assisting Republican Senate Offices in crafting effective outreach efforts to the Hispanic community.

“Jesse is a very valuable member of our team and deserving of this nomination,” said Senator Huff. “We are working hard to show that our priorities as Republicans that include quality education, safe streets and quality jobs, are the same priorities of Hispanics in California. Jesse is working hard to help advance that message.”

Rodriguez, who graduated from UC Davis in 2013, served as an intern with the Sacramento Hispanic Chamber of Commerce prior to joining the Senate Republican Caucus. He continues to stay active in the SHCC and is also active in other community service projects including Cien Amigos young professionals, UC Davis Aggie Alumni Association and the Knights of Columbus where he coordinates many of the organization’s youth activities. He also plays bass guitar in his church choir and his band “La Noche Oskura.”
